Sylvia Lovely often introduces herself as a lawyer by training, a CEO (at the Kentucky League of Cities for 25 years) by experience and a media mogul...in her dreams. Lovely is co-owner of Azur Food Group, consisting of Azur Restaurant and Patio; Brasabana, featuring cuban cuisine; and Dupree Catering. She also serves as co-host along with Chef Jeremy Ashby, executive chef and co-owner of Azur Food Group, of Food News and Chews, a unique half-hour program about food and food policy on Kentucky Education Television (KET). Their mission on the show is to assist the “bewildered” in their quest for fresh and healthy food. The show provides information on how to understand the local food movement and prepare flavorful and healthy foods, and both Lovely and Ashby are determined to deliver the “news” in an engaging format. Most recently, she and Ashby have taken their popular show to a new one-hour format on WVLK 590 AM talk radio airing on Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. In addition, Lovely has an active consulting business with locally owned SteinGroup and speaks throughout the country on issues related to food policy and crisis management. She is the author of two books, the Little Blue Book of Big Ideas -- New Cities in America and The Little Red Book of Everyday Heroes. She is currently at work on a memoir and guidebook on how to manage crises.
