Chief Operating Officer, Genus Asia
After receiving his agriculture degree with honors from Seale Hayne College, Jerry Thompson worked for PIC and subsequently Genus, the world's leading supplier of pig, dairy and beef genetics, for over 20 years. After 2 years in the U.K. business, he moved to Siberia in 1995 as a key account manager for a 23,000-sow integrated pig operation. In 1998, he relocated to Romania where he established and ran the business there until taking responsibility for PIC’s activities across Central and Eastern Europe in 2001. In 2008, he took on responsibility for PIC Europe, where he remained until accepting his current role as chief operating officer for Genus Asia in 2010. He lives in Shanghai with his family and is responsible for the PIC and ABS businesses across Russia and Asia-Pacific.
