Founder and General Manager, Cattleman’s Choice Feedyard, Inc.
Dale Moore began his career at a 10,000-head feedlot in Scott City, Kan., following a degree in farm and ranch management. After helping a small yard in Missouri grow from 500-head to 3,000-head in a year, Dale, his wife, Mary, and a few short-term investors purchased a 200-acre feedyard in Gage, Oklahoma, in December 2000. By 2004, the 200-acre property, now Cattleman’s Choice Feedyard (CCFI), was a 6,500-head feedyard and had become Certified Angus Beef (C.A.B.) licensed. They have been recognized with the Certified Angus Beef Feedyard of the Year award, the Red Angus Association's "GridMaster” award (annually) and the C.A.B’s National Carcass Challenge for their high percentages of cattle qualifying for C.A.B. As of 2015, CCFI is entirely owned by Dale and Mary, holds an average of 7,500-head and is a non-hormonal, natural-based feedyard, with more than 80 retained ownership customers. Currently, they sell beef to all major packers, who then distribute to Whole Foods, Chipotle and many top-end steakhouses throughout the world. Dale assists his customers with their risk management through hedging and marketing with the packer. He enjoys educating international farmers and businessmen on U.S. beef production, from the cow-calf, to the feeding sector.
