Chief Revenue & Strategy Officer and General Manager of Network Operations, RFD-TV/Rural Media Group
A native of Los Angeles, Brian Hughes got his first big break as a cue card writer and production assistant on “Hee Haw.” Thus, he began sixteen years working his way through the ranks of Gaylord Entertainment, Westinghouse, CBS and Viacom, all ultimate owners and acquirers of The Nashville Network (TNN) and what became the ill-fated, The National Network. Hughes held numerous positions during his tenure at TNN to include programming and sponsorships as well as senior vice president positions. Upon Viacom’s closure of the Nashville offices and directional change of the network, Hughes started his own consulting and advertising sales/marketing company where he worked with multiple networks including ESPN, CBS, NBC, ABC, Versus, Speed Channel, Outdoor Channel and Spike. Throughout most of his professional career, Hughes has been involved with the outdoor television community and, after eight years in his own business, went to work for Outdoor Channel. He is currently with Rural Media Group, which includes two cable works (RFD-TV and FamilyNet), as well as Sirius/XM Rural Radio Channel 80.
